HOW DO I KNOW IF SLEEP COACHING IS FOR US?

Sleep coaching can help with both minor and major sleep problems. Sometimes a small adjustment in the rhythm or feeding is enough, while in other cases your child still has to learn to fall asleep independently. The most important question is: are you satisfied with how things are going now?

If it works for you, there is no reason to change anything. But if you find that lack of sleep or broken nights are impacting your family and you would like a solution, I would be happy to help you find a situation that suits you better.

FROM WHAT AGE CAN I START SLEEP COACHING?

At Slaapmûtsje you can go for sleep coaching for babies and toddlers from 4 months to 2 years . In addition, it is possible to book the Sleep Trajectory for the Smallest(s) from birth. This consultation offers practical and loving guidance for babies from 0 to 16 weeks .

Whether you struggle with short naps, many nighttime wake-ups or have difficulty creating a good rhythm, together we will look for an approach that suits your situation.

CAN I ALSO GET ADVICE WITHOUT A FULL PROCESS?

Yes, that is certainly possible! You can get advice without a full trajectory with personal guidance. This can be in the form of a consultation , in which you explain the situation and I look with you at the sleep challenges of your child.

Based on this, you will receive a concise sleep plan with concrete advice and steps that you can apply yourself. This way, you will receive targeted help, without being tied to an extensive process.

AFTER MY CHOSEN SLEEP PROGRAM, I NEED EXTRA GUIDANCE. IS THAT POSSIBLE?

At the end of your chosen Sleep Path we always plan an evaluation moment . During this conversation we look at the progress together and discuss whether additional guidance is needed.

If you require further support , this is certainly possible and we will look together at which option suits you and your child best.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE I SEE IMPROVEMENT?

This depends on several factors, such as the current sleeping conditions, your baby's sleeping habits and the calming technique chosen.

Usually you will see the first improvements within 3 to 5 days , and after about two weeks there is often a clear result. However, this is only the case if the approach is carried out consistently . Consistency is the key to success in sleep coaching.

WHAT IS YOUR VIEW ON LETTING A BABY CRY?

Crying is a form of communication for babies and young children. During sleep coaching it is important to find a balance between support and giving space to learn to sleep on their own. I do not believe in methods where a child is completely left to its own devices, but I also know that completely preventing crying is often not realistic.

My approach focuses on loving and predictable guidance , where your baby is given the opportunity to learn new sleep skills with your support. The amount of crying depends on the desired approach and the sensitivity of your baby. Some methods are gentler and more gradual, while other techniques give faster results, but may provoke more protest.

The most important thing is that parents feel comfortable with the method and that there is always room for comfort and closeness when needed. Sleep coaching is about a balance between independence and security , where we look together at what suits your child and situation best.
